About Us

Loveland Living Planet Aquarium (LLPA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that inspires people to explore, discover, and learn about Earth’s diverse ecosystems. A world-class facility, the Aquarium provides learning opportunities for all levels, interests, and ages. Since opening its new facility in Draper in March 2014, the Aquarium has welcomed over eight million guests and provided more than 650,000 educational experiences to students. Home to more than 6,500 animals representing 500 species, the Aquarium showcases ecosystems from around the planet including kelp forests, coral reefs, the deep ocean, Antarctic waters, Asian cloud forests, South American rain forests, and the waterways of our home state of Utah. Loveland Living Planet Aquarium is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).

The new Rio Tinto Kennecott Plaza, a nine-acre expansion south of the Aquarium, recently opened and features the 165-foot tall EECO structure, peaceful gardens, artistic sculptures, and unique event space.

To learn how our Founder and CEO Brent Andersen brought the Aquarium to life, read this Utah Business article.

Who We Are & What We Do

We are a world-class Aquarium that engages and educates people about their place in the global system of life by showcasing the world’s ecosystems.

We provide living “classrooms” that immerse people in natural ecosystems, bridging the gaps between education, entertainment, and conservation to help people understand and appreciate their connection to the global system of life.

Loveland Living Planet Aquarium (LLPA) is fully committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all guests. To enhance the experience and safety of our guests, staff members, volunteers, and the animals living at LLPA, all guests are expected to abide by our Code of Conduct.

We welcome ADA-qualified service animals that are specifically trained to work or perform tasks for people with disabilities.

Wheelchairs may be rented for a small fee from our Guest Services staff as supplies last. Every habitat viewing area can be accessed with a wheelchair or other mobility aids. Our multi-story exhibits include ADA-compliant ramp pathways, and a public elevator is located in the main lobby for direct access to the second floor.

Please reach out to us at info@livingplanetaquarium.org to let us know if you encounter a problem or to provide feedback. LLPA is actively working toward making the Aquarium experiences and learning opportunities accessible to all.
