Loveland Living Planet Aquarium FAQs
When did the Aquarium open?
The Living Planet Aquarium was founded by Brent Andersen, a marine biologist, who had a vision for a world-class aquarium in Utah. In 1999, two "Aqua Vans" were outfitted with educational exhibits and began visiting Utah schools. In June 2004, The Living Planet Aquarium Preview Exhibit opened in The Gateway Mall. Then in 2006, we moved to a bigger location in Sandy, Utah. On March 25, 2014, the newest location in Draper was opened. At 136,000 square feet, this new building accommodates growing crowds and lots more exhibit space.
