What to Expect

Can I come inside the building with my camper?

This year, we will implement curbside dropoff and pickup for your safety and convenience. Just pull up to the curb and an Aquarium employee will greet you. Camp staff will escort your camper to their group. To protect the safety of our staff and the other campers, we ask that you remain in your car during drop-off rather than escort your child inside.

We know that first-day jitters can be tough for young campers. We suggest prepping campers in advance for what to expect. The sample script below can help you.

“Next week, you’re going to go to camp at the Aquarium! We’re going to get into the car on Monday morning and drive to the Aquarium. Once we get there, a nice person in a blue shirt is going to come over to the car. They are our friends that work at the Aquarium. I’m going to stay in the car while you go inside the Aquarium with some other kids and our friend in the blue shirt. You’re going to stay at the Aquarium for three hours. You will see cool animals, play games with other kids, and have a snack. Then at lunchtime, I’m going to come back in the car to pick you up. Then we’ll drive home and eat lunch and you can tell me about the fun things you did at the Aquarium!”

Going over this script in the days leading up to camp and even acting it out with toys can help young campers feel more confident and prepared to go to camp.

My camper has tested positive for COVID-19, has been exposed to someone with COVID-19, and/or has a fever or other symptoms. What should I do?

In this situation, please keep your camper home and contact us as soon as possible.

We recognize that camp fees can be a significant investment for families, which is why we have revised our refund policy to give you greater flexibility. Full refunds can be given if you contact us before 8 a.m. on the first day of your camp session. If your camper has already started a session, you will receive a prorated refund for each full day missed, up to 50 percent of total camp fees.

Registration Policies

Campers must have reached the minimum age by the first day of camp. Loveland Living Planet Aquarium reserves the right to cancel or alter registrations of children registered in camps that do not match their age. Campers must be toilet trained to participate in an Aquarium Camp. Registration for camps will remain open until one week before camp, or until full. No registration will be allowed after the cutoff date.

The Aquarium is committed to providing a safe, enjoyable experience for all campers. Whenever possible, we are happy to work with guardians to make reasonable accommodations for campers with special physical, behavioral, emotional, cognitive, or medical needs. If camp management consults with a camper and their guardians and determines that the needs of a camper cannot safely be met, the Aquarium reserves the right to cancel their registration and provide a full refund.

Proper mask-wearing is the most effective way to limit the spread of COVID-19. While we are not requiring masks for camp participants, we do strongly recommend that campers wear well-fitting masks (covering mouth and nose) while inside the Aquarium. Campers may bring their own masks, and we will have a supply on hand for campers who would like one provided to them.

There may be activities during camp that bring campers into close contact with vulnerable species. In these situations, due to animal safety regulations, we will require campers and staff to wear masks covering the mouth and nose for the duration of the activity.

We will spend plenty of time outside each day for safe mask-wearing breaks.

Loveland Living Planet Aquarium reserves the right to cancel registration for any other reason. In the event that a registration is canceled, registrants will be notified and receive a full refund or may be allowed to transfer their registration to another session.
