$5 Scout Nights are offered to Cubs, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and their leaders a few times a year; usually on a Wednesday night, 6:30pm to 9:00pm.
No. $5 Scout Nights are an open-house style event. You may come and go at whatever times work best for your schedule. Most groups stay about 90 minutes.
You can register your group using the reservation form. Registration is meant to help us plan for how many guests to expect for the event. You will not receive a confirmation email or other notification of registration. If you filled out and submitted the form, you are registered.
No. You will not receive a confirmation number or email. If you filled out and submitted the form, you are registered for the event.
We encourage everyone to wear uniforms in celebration of scouting and to help our staff know you are part of a scouting program. However, we recognize that not all scouts have uniforms. As long as we can recognize all members of your group as part of a scouting unit, you will be allowed to participate.
Yes. All scouts must be accompanied by an adult. If, for some reason, your scout is not attending with a troop, one adult parent or guardian can get in with the scout for the leader price of $5.
Of course! Members are always free. You may use your membership for free admission for yourself and any individuals covered by the membership during $5 Scout Nights; however, expect it to be a busy night.
Yes, but non-scouts will only receive a $2 discount from regular admission prices. We encourage parents and leaders to focus on their scouts for the event and leave other children/adults at home.
The following attractions are closed during $5 Scout Nights:
• Tuki’s Island Play Center
• 4D Theater
• Journey to South America Rope Bridge
• Gift Shop
The upper story of our South American Rainforest is a quiet zone for the safety of the sleeping birds.
Loveland Living Planet Aquarium is providing $5 scout nights as a service for scouts that want to explore the various ecosystems and exhibits available. Scouts may enjoy an introduction to science based adventures and merit badges; they may meet a requirement just by attending the Aquarium. It is up to leaders to keep track of anything their scouts do that may pass off requirements during $5 Scout Night.
You can expect crowds any time we offer reduced admission. $5 Scout Nights generally attract between 600-900 guests. This may seem like a lot, but our facility offers 136,000 square feet of space to explore! Anticipate waiting in line for up to 20 minutes if you arrive between 6:15 and 7:30. “Be Prepared” and dress for the weather.
There are several things you can do to help the admission line move faster. First, don’t get in line until your entire group is present. Second, give all the money to a single leader and have him/her pay for the entire group all at once. Last, consider coming early or late. Coming around 6:00 will put you at the front of the line. Alternatively, if you have older scouts that don’t mind being out later, arrive after 7:00 when there is a shorter line.
We request that you have at least one adult for every 5 Cub Scouts, Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors. For scouts ages 12+, one adult for every 10 scouts is sufficient. All scouts must be accompanied by an adult while in the Aquarium.
Please coach your scouts in respectful behavior toward the animals, exhibits, and other guests. No running, yelling, or hitting exhibit glass. Do not tease the animals.
Unfortunately, we cannot sell advance tickets to $5 Scout Night. All admissions must be purchased on the night of the event. We find this helps save troops money since you won’t have to worry about no-shows.
