Number four on our list of Most Popular Animals are . . . the Stingrays! We have two species of rays in our touch pools (Southern and Atlantic stingray), two species in our Shark Tank (Giant shovelnose and Southern stingray), one species in our kelp forest (Bat ray), and even one species in our Journey to South America gallery (River stingray)! Because Stingrays’ eyes are on the top of their heads, they have to rely on their sense of smell to find their food.
What are your guesses for who number three is? Here’s a hint: we actually have two species of this animal at the Aquarium, and they live on land. Find out the answer tomorrow!
