As coronavirus mandates relax and Utah’s statewide mandate is set to expire on April 10, 2021, the Aquarium will continue its commitment to reducing pandemic-related risks for our staff, guests, and the animals in our care. At this time, the Aquarium will preserve current COVID-19 safety practices by continuing to require masks for guests and employees until all of our team members have had the opportunity to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Individuals who are unable to wear a face mask due to a medical condition and children ages 2 and under are exempt. In addition, the Aquarium will continue to use a ticket reservation system to limit facility capacity and maintain frequent disinfection of the facility, including high-touch areas. Below you will find a list of frequently asked questions to aid you as you plan your visit.

Covid-19 Policies

How do I get tickets?

Tickets must be purchased online. Guests will choose a time to come to the Aquarium and must arrive within 10 minutes of that time slot to gain entry. Aquarium Members will also have to reserve a time slot. Guests without a reservation are not guaranteed entry due to capacity restrictions. Please bring a printed copy of your ticket or show them on your phone when you arrive.

How do I visit the aquarium with my membership?

Members need to make a FREE reservation online before visiting the aquarium. Members will choose a time to come to the Aquarium and must arrive within 10 minutes of that time slot to gain entry. Please have your membership card plus confirmation of your reservation ready to scan. If your membership has expired, you can still make a reservation online but must renew your membership before gaining entry.

Do I have to wear a mask or face covering?

Face masks that cover both mouth and nose are required at all times while indoors. Individuals who are unable to wear a face mask due to a medical condition and children ages 2 and under are exempt. Face shields may be worn in addition to, but not as a replacement to face masks. Entry to Loveland Living Planet Aquarium will be granted only to those wearing an Aquarium-approved face covering. While outside, masks are required when within 6-feet of other households. Please continue to observe rules regarding face coverings at all times throughout your time at the Aquarium. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

What if I don’t want to wear a face mask or social distance?

The safety of our guests and team members remains our top priority. Following our review, we have determined that we will continue to follow CDC guidelines. We will also continue to implement heightened sanitization protocols and maintain our guest reservation system. The Aquarium is allowing frontline staff to be vaccinated and monitoring the situation for progress. At this time, however, we ask that if you would prefer not to social distance or wear a face mask that covers both mouth and nose during your entire visit, that you delay your Aquarium visit until such steps are deemed unnecessary.

What are the hours of operation?

The Aquarium is open every day from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (last entry at 5:00 p.m.) Wednesday and Saturday mornings are reserved for high-risk individuals from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. The Aquarium is open until 8:00 p.m. on Monday evenings (last entry at 7:00 p.m.) Online reservations are required for all tickets.

How is physical distancing facilitated within the Aquarium?

The number of guests allowed in the Aquarium is limited. There are one-way paths designated so that all guests can practice physical distancing (keeping six feet of space between groups).

Can I make purchases within the Aquarium?

Tickets must be purchased online in advance. The Reef Café and gift shop are open.

Is everything open as usual?

Tuki’s Island: Play & Party Center as well as the 4D theatre are currently unavailable to minimize gatherings of people. The play center is available to rent for a private party (visit The Aquarium’s two touch pools are closed. The Reef Café is open. Drinking fountains are shut off. Water cups are available upon request at the café.

What precautions are being taken at the Aquarium?

The Aquarium has implemented several procedures, including the wearing of masks or face coverings, substantially reducing the number of guests allowed in the Aquarium at one time, increased sanitation procedures for high traffic areas, restricting the use of some areas that do not allow for social distancing, meeting or exceeding Utah State Health Orders.

General Questions

Where should I PARK when I visit the Aquarium?

Free parking is available in the lots adjacent to our building and the Rio Tinto Kennecott Plaza. Stalls requiring a state-issued disability placard are located closest to the Aquarium building as the Welcome Center. All guests enter through the NEW Welcome Center. Parking is not allowed in the parking lot directly north of the Aquarium.

How is the Aquarium accessible via PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION?

The Aquarium is easily accessible via UTA. The F514 bus travels from the Draper and South Jordan UTA Frontrunner Stations and stops just west of our facility on Lone Peak Parkway. To plan your trip visit

Is my SERVICE ANIMAL welcome at the Aquarium?

Trained service dogs are welcome at Loveland Living Planet Aquarium. Personal pets and dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA and are not allowed inside the Aquarium. Please be aware of the unique setting of bringing a service animal where live animal collections are held. Some of our animals (like the Clouded leopards) see your animal as a threat or prey, which may cause our animals (or yours) to become agitated. For the safety and well-being of all our animals, the staff that cares for them, your animal, and all patrons please adhere to the following guidelines while viewing the exhibits.
• Keep your dog back away from the Clouded leopard exhibit and any open enclosures.
• Do not coax the dog to interact with any animals.
• The dog should be kept with the owner, under control, and restrained on a leash at all times.
• It is not acceptable for your dog to have an accident in the facility.
LLPA reserves the right to ask that any service animal be removed from the building if the safety of any guests or animals is compromised. Thank you for your cooperation in making Loveland Living Planet Aquarium a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Do you offer any DISCOUNTS?

The best discount we offer is to purchase an annual membership. For more information on memberships, click HERE. We also offer $5 Off Family Night every Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. when each admission ticket is $5 off the regular price. We also offer a discount of $2 per ticket for groups of 20 people or more. To purchase group tickets, call 801-355-FISH (3474) ext. 222. We also offer a $3 per ticket discount to students, seniors, and military members.

Are STROLLERS allowed inside the Aquarium?

Children in strollers are welcome at the Aquarium, however we do not offer secure storage for visitors’ strollers. We do have a limited number of strollers available for a $5.00 rental fee. They are available at the Information Desk in the main lobby.

Do you have WHEELCHAIRS available for patrons’ use?

We do have a limited number of wheelchairs available for a $5.00 rental fee. They are available at the Information Desk in the main lobby.

May I bring my own FOOD AND DRINK into the Aquarium?

Please do not. We offer a fine selection of food and refreshments at The Reef Café located in the main lobby and all event catering is offered through Icon Culinary

What is your WEAPONS policy?

Weapons of any kind are not allowed on LLPA property with the exception of on-duty law enforcement.

Are there any other ITEMS which are NOT ALLOWED in your facility?

The following are not allowed inside the Aquarium: clothing with offensive or vulgar language, tobacco products and e-cigarettes, illegal drugs, signs, laser pens and pointers, noise-making devices (horns, whistles, etc.), balloons (except for parties in Tuki’s Island Play & Party Center), and any other items deemed to be dangerous or inappropriate by Aquarium management.

Can I rent your facility for a PRIVATE EVENT?

We have two event rooms available for private events and offer evening full facility rentals as well. For more information on hosting an event at the Aquarium, please click HERE.

Can I schedule a BIRTHDAY PARTY at the Aquarium? 

Yes. Birthday parties are hosted in the party rooms in Tuki’s Island Play and Party Center. Tuki’s Island Play & Party Center is a one-of-a-kind party venue. It’s perfect for birthday parties or other small get-togethers like family reunions, graduations, or anniversaries. For more information regarding booking party, please click HERE. Does your facility have WIFI ACCESS?

Yes, we offer free public WiFi for our patrons. (Network: Aquarium-Guest) No password is required.

How do you manage GUEST CONFLICTS?

Courteous behavior is expected of all guests. Unruly or unsafe behavior that endangers people or animals, disrupts other guests’ ability to enjoy their visit, or interferes with business operations is not acceptable and can result in them being asked to leave the facility without a refund and/or prosecution to the full extent of the law. Please speak with an Aquarium representative if you need assistance during your visit.

Is PHOTOGRAPHY allowed at the Aquarium?

Yes. Please be sure to capture your experience at the Aquarium on camera and tag us in your Social Media posts! When you are taking photos, we ask that you turn off the flash feature on your camera or camera phone. Also, unauthorized professional photography is not permitted. How can I ADVERTISE my business at your facility?

While the Aquarium does not accept advertising, we have many sponsorship opportunities available. For more information, please contact the Development Office at Distributing any literature or propaganda, soliciting for signatures, or the selling of any goods and services is not allowed on LLPA property unless previously authorized by facility administration.

How can I VOLUNTEER at the Aquarium?

What is a 4D theatre and what movies are currently showing?

LLPA houses one of the only 4D theatres in the state of Utah! A 4D film combines a 3D film with physical effects that occur in the theatre in synchronization with the film. The effects simulated in our theatre include: air, water, seat vibrations, and scents. Admission to the 4D Theatre is included with all Memberships and General Admission tickets. (Field Trip tickets do not include admission to the 4D Theatre but can be purchased for $2 per person.) To see our current movie schedule click HERE.
