Utah’s World-class Aquarium


Loveland Living Planet Aquarium (LLPA) in Draper, Utah, is home to more than 4,000 animals from around the world. Conveniently located off Interstate 15 at exit 291 and just minutes from downtown Salt Lake City, this world-class Aquarium features a 300,000-gallon shark exhibit with a 40-foot tunnel that guests can walk through and enjoy an underwater view of seven different species of sharks, sea turtles, stingrays, and more.

The Aquarium has reopened as of May 9, 2020. We are excited and ready to welcome you back! Operations will be a little different than before, so please review the following policies before visiting. The safety of our guests, employees, and animals is our highest priority.




Operations of Tuki’s Island: Play and Party Center and the 4D Theatre are paused until further notice. 


Loveland Living Planet Aquarium offers three unique animal experiences: Shark Encounters, Penguin Encounters, and Stingray Encounters. These experiences allow you to meet our animals up close. Limited spaces are available, so please reserve your encounter in advance of your visit.

All guests, including members, must make a reservation online and arrive no more than 10 minutes prior to their scheduled time.

General FAQs

How do I get tickets?

Tickets cannot be purchased at the door. Tickets must be purchased online. Guests will choose a time to come to the Aquarium and must arrive within 10 minutes of that time slot to gain entry. Aquarium Members will also have to reserve a time slot.

What are the hours of operation?

The Aquarium is open every day from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Mondays we are open 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with $5 Off Family Night from 4-8:00 p.m. ($5 off each ticket). Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. are reserved for high-risk individuals. Online reservations are required for all tickets.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring your ticket, either on your phone or printed, and your membership card if applicable.

Do I have to wear a mask or face covering?

Face masks or face coverings are now required in the Aquarium for the guests ages 2 and up, due to the Salt Lake County mandate instituted on June 27,2020. Please bring your own face masks.

How will my visit be different?

The number of guests allowed in the Aquarium will be limited. There will be one-way paths designated so that all guests can practice social distancing (keeping six feet of space between groups).

Can I make purchases within the Aquarium?

Tickets must be purchased online in advance, but contactless payment will be available for other purchases made in the Aquarium at the café or gift shop.

Is everything open as usual?

The Aquarium’s play and party center, Tuki’s Island, and the 4D theatre will not be available to minimize gatherings of people. The Aquarium’s two touch pools will also be closed. Café will be open with a limited menu. The gift shop will remain temporarily closed for an additional week. Guests will exit next to the café.

What precautions are being taken at the Aquarium?

The Aquarium will implement several procedures, including the following:
• Substantially reducing the number of guests allowed in the Aquarium at one time.
• Increased sanitation procedures for high traffic areas in the Aquarium.
• Restricting the use of some areas of the Aquarium that do not allow for social distancing.
• Complying with all state and local regulations concerning COVID-19, including the wearing of masks or face coverings.


Membership FAQs

How do I visit the aquarium with my membership?

Members need to make a FREE reservation online before visiting the aquarium. Members will choose a time to come to the Aquarium, and must arrive within 10 minutes of that time slot to gain entry.

Will my membership be extended?

All memberships in good standing at the time of the Aquarium’s closure have been extended by 69 days from their original expiration date.

Can I come on on Member Morning?

Member Morning is temporarily suspended in order to accommodate early limited-access for at-risk guests. Member Morning is expected to resume soon.
