There’s a Loveland Living Planet Aquarium Summer Camp for every animal-loving kid. This year, we’ve added three new camps and more camp options for campers ages 4-5 and 6-7. All camps include Animal Encounters, behind-the-scenes experiences, themed activities, a T-shirt, water bottle, backpack, and access to camp photos.

POLICIES

REGISTRATION POLICIES

Campers must have reached the minimum age by the first day of camp. Loveland Living Planet Aquarium reserves the right to cancel or alter registrations of children registered in camps that do not match their age.

Campers must be toilet trained to participate in an Aquarium Summer Camp.

Registration for camps will remain open until one week before camp. No registration will be allowed after cutoff date. Cutoff days are as follows:

  • Camps Running June 3-7: Monday, May 27th
  • Camps Running June 10-14: Monday, June 3rd
  • Camps Running June 17-21: Monday, June 10th
  • Camps Running June 24-28: Monday, June 17th
  • Camps Running July 8-12: Monday, July 1st
  • Camps Running July 15-19: Monday, July 8th
  • Camps Running July 29-Aug 2: Monday, July 22th
  • Camps Running August 5-9: Monday, July 29th
  • Camps Running August 12-16: Monday, August 5th

PICK UP/DROP OFF

Pick up and drop off of campers can only be performed by authorized adults listed on the registration form. Additional authorized adults can be added during camp if needed. Photo ID is required when picking up campers with no exceptions. Campers may be dropped off no more than 15 minutes before camp start time and must be picked up no later than 15 minutes after camp end time. Failure to comply with drop off/pick up window may result in additional fees.

Extended Hours Care

We love spending extra time with your campers! We can provide supervised care from 8 to 9 AM in the morning, 12 to 1 PM in the afternoon (half-day camps only), and 3 to 4 PM in the afternoon. Campers will enjoy age-appropriate free-choice activities. Extended care hours must be purchased at time of registration. Staff will not be available for drop-in extended care

TIDE POOL TITANS

Tide Pool Titans in the perfect place for little superheroes or warrior princesses. After learning all about animal champions and their amazing powers, campers will create their own nature-powered superheroes. In their quest for justice, campers will team up with animals, explore behind the scenes, and conduct tests in their secret headquarters. This half day camp is perfect for heroes ages 4 to 5 and focuses on the power of pretend play inspired by our animal friends.

CREATIVE CRITTERS

This camp for ages 4-5 celebrates art and nature. Campers will try their hand at painting, sculpture, dance, music, theater, and more using creatures from around the world as inspiration. This half-day camp is perfect for budding artists, dancers, and actors, as well as animal-lovers. Campers will go behind the scenes, meet lots of interesting creatures, and enjoy lots of hands-on fun!

New! Ocean Explorers Ages 6-7

If your camper is full of curiosity and loves exploring new places, tell them to pack their bags for this brand new camp! Campers will use their imaginations to travel around the world to learn about how the ocean connects all life on the planet. From the desert to the coral reef, campers will discover how all habitats need the ocean. Explore art, music, and language from cultures around the world and meet some of the animals that inspired them.

Feathers, Fins, and Fur Ages 6-7

Do you have a scientist in the making? Are you constantly answering questions about animals, plants, and the big wide world? Tell your explorer to bring all the best questions to this exciting camp where they will learn about aquarium animals and their wonderful adaptations. Animal encounters, active games, crafts, and behind-the-scenes experiences will prepare campers to create a wildlife habitat in their own backyards. This half day camp is perfect for animal-loving kids ages 6-7.

New! Creature Challenge 8-9

Get ready to challenge what you think you know about animals! In this new camp for 8 and 9 year-olds, campers set off on a fact-finding mission through the aquarium, dispelling myths and discovering the truth about earth’s most misunderstood creatures. Hands-on science activities, behind-the-scenes animal encounters, and cooperative games help campers to discover that many of the features animals have that seem strange or scary are really amazing tools for survival.

In this brand new camp, it’s full S.T.E.A.M. ahead! Explore real-world science, technology, engineering, art, and math (S.T.E.A.M.) through hands-on activities, from hydroelectric power experiments to nature-inspired tie-dye art. Go behind the scenes, meet amazing creatures in special animal encounters, and learn how STEAM practices create solutions for the challenges that animals face every day.

MBIT: Marine Biologist in Training Ages 12-14

Teens who want a career studying dolphins or cataloging life on an ocean reef will be right at home in the Marine Biologist in Training Camp. This camp is the perfect blend of learning and fun. With activities ranging from animal feeds to water fights and scavenger hunts, there is something for everyone. Campers aged 12 to 14 will gain an in-depth introduction to the study of marine ecosystems and their inhabitants, culminating in an opportunity to job shadow one of our aquarists.

Marine Biologist in Training Ages 14-17

This special field trip session of MBIT is perfect older teens who are interested in pursuing a career studying the ocean and all its amazing inhabitants. Future Marine Biologists will learn important principals of oceanography, job shadow members of our animal-care staff, conduct scientific experiments, and visit Utah’s ocean, the Great Salt Lake, to meet real scientists working in the field
